How to Check IPO Allotment Status by PAN (NSE, BSE & Registrar)
By IPOgmps Research Desk · Updated 2026-10-21
Quick answer: To check IPO allotment status, open the registrar’s allotment page (KFin Technologies, MUFG Intime or Bigshare, for example), pick the IPO and enter your PAN, application number or DP ID. You can also check on NSE or BSE. Results usually appear on the evening of allotment day, one working day after the IPO closes.
Key points
- Allotment is finalised one working day after the IPO closes (T+1) under SEBI’s T+3 timeline.
- The registrar publishes results first; NSE and BSE show your bid status too.
- You need your PAN, application number or demat (DP/client) ID.
- Not allotted: your blocked money is released by T+2. Allotted: shares reach your demat account by T+2.
When is IPO allotment status out?
Under SEBI’s T+3 rules, the basis of allotment is finalised on T+1, the first working day after the IPO closes (T). Registrars usually publish results on the evening of T+1, sometimes late at night. Our IPO allotment status page lists every IPO with its allotment date, the odds for one lot and a direct link to check.
How do I check allotment status on the registrar’s website?
Every IPO appoints a registrar that handles applications and allotment. You will find its name in the offer document and on each IPO page on IPOgmps.
- Open the registrar’s allotment page (links below).
- Select the IPO from the drop-down list. It appears once allotment is finalised.
- Choose PAN, application number or DP/client ID, and enter it.
- Submit to see how many shares you were allotted.
Registrar allotment pages| Registrar | Where to check |
|---|
| KFin Technologies | ipostatus.kfintech.com |
| MUFG Intime (formerly Link Intime) | in.mpms.mufg.com › Public issues |
| Bigshare Services | ipo.bigshareonline.com › IPO status |
| Others (Skyline, Cameo, Purva, Maashitla…) | the registrar’s own site, linked from our allotment page |
How do I check IPO allotment on NSE or BSE?
Both exchanges let you check bids for IPOs listed on them:
- NSE: open the bid verification page, choose the issue, enter your PAN and application number.
- BSE: open the application status page, select “Equity”, choose the issue, then enter your application number or PAN.
Use the exchange where the IPO is listing. Links are in the sources below and on our allotment page.
What do the allotment status messages mean?
Reading your result| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|
| Shares allotted: 1 lot (or a number of shares) | You got shares | They reach your demat account by T+2 |
| Not allotted / 0 shares | Your application lost the lottery | The block on your money is lifted by T+2 |
| Application rejected or invalid | The bid failed a check (PAN mismatch, duplicate PAN, mandate not accepted…) | Nothing is debited; check the reason with your broker |
| No record found | Wrong details, or results not out yet | Check the PAN or application number and try later |
If your bank account still shows the block after listing day, contact your bank first, then the registrar, using the IPO name and your application number. Keep a screenshot of your bid confirmation from the broker app; it has every detail the registrar asks for.
What happens after allotment?
- Allotted: the money for your shares is debited and the shares are credited to your demat account by T+2. They start trading on listing day, T+3.
- Not allotted: the amount blocked in your bank account through UPI or ASBA is released by T+2. Nothing was debited, so no refund is “sent”: the block is simply lifted.
- Partly allotted (bigger applications): you pay only for the shares you get, and the rest of the block is lifted.
See the full day-by-day plan in IPO timeline after closing.
Why didn’t I get shares?
When the retail portion is oversubscribed, shares are allotted by lottery: each winning applicant gets one lot, and applying for more lots does not improve your chances. If retail investors bid 40 times the shares on offer, roughly 1 in 40 applications wins. Read how to increase your IPO allotment chances.
